OUR 2021-2022 CONCERT SCHEDULE

FOR UNTO US A CHILD IS BORN

For Unto Us a Child is Born, Unto Us a Son Is Given

Greetings to all of our friends and supporters of The Lutheran Chorale. We wish you a healthy and blessed Advent season and are pleased to notify you of the re-birth of The Lutheran Chorale as we prepare to celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus!

Wow, it is hard to come to grips with the realization that it has been almost two full years since we have shared our love of choral music with anyone, let alone those of you who have been our supporters and partners in preserving and performing sacred and contemporary choral music.  It almost seems that we have been derelict in our duty, but then nothing has been normal since the scourge of COVID has upended life as we know it.  However, we have held firm to the promise that we would again be able sing His praises, and our faith has been rewarded.

We have actually been singing together in outdoor, socially distanced get-togethers since mid-summer. We were again invited to sing the National Anthem at a Rockies game in September (always a fun experience) and to give a mini concert for the Rocky Mountain District SOAR gathering.

And now, we are presenting two Christmas concerts on December 5, 2021, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church and Concordia Lutheran Church. We are very excited and believe that these two very special concerts will mark the rebirth of The Lutheran Chorale.

Through the generosity and the encouragement of the SCFD and supporters like you, we are able to collaborate with a group of musicians from the Lamont School of Music to prepare and perform some very, very special Christmas music. We hope you will join us and be rewarded by a musical experience that we promise you will not soon forget.

We will be performing a number of traditional Christmas pieces by John Rutter, including a sublime arrangement of The Wexford Carol.  We are also excited to offer The Hands That First Held Mary’s Child and The Dream Isaiah Saw, which, as I said, you will not soon forget. And of course, from The Messiah, there will be Handel’s, For Unto Us a Child Is Born and The Hallelujah Chorus, where you will be expected to join in.

We are hopefully planning to have a full concert calendar for 2022-23.  We will make sure you are notified as soon as that is finalized. If you would like to have us perform at your church or organization, please visit our website, thelutheranchorale.org, and click the “contact us” button. We also hope you will click the ”Support” button and again help support the mission of the Chorale.  We also hope to see you at one of our concerts on Sunday, December 5th, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church at 2100 Wadsworth at 2:30 pm, or Concordia Lutheran Church at 13371 W. Alameda Parkway, Lakewood at 7:00 pm.

God’s richest blessing; we hope to see you all on December 5th.

David Peterson, TLC Concert Coordinator
